More web designers want to create a successful website, and who doesn’t, right? They might think that it requires a lot of knowledge, but really, it is all about following the right principles and continuously learning in the process.

So today, I am going to talk about some tips that will help beginners be successful in the field of web design and become the best web designer.

Start by Doing It

Really, it is just as easy as that. Learn the fundamentals of HTTP and CSS first so that you will know how to handle things properly.

Also, it can be hard, but what you’ve learned during the process can help you a lot later down the line. Also, make sure to practice, practice, and practice. As the saying goes, “practice makes perfect.”

Simple Design = Maximum Effect

It has already been established that a simpler design can actually be more beneficial not only to you but also to your clients as well.

It is beneficial to you because there are only a couple of site elements that you need to worry about and it is great for your clients because the things that you will do to create a simple website will attract more customers to their pages.

Use a Centralized Theme

The theme of your website is quite important as it can set the mood of your audience as soon as they enter your space.

When choosing a theme, make sure that it closely resembles the brand and it should also be something that grabs the users’ attention (and also pleasing to the eyes as well).

Use Simple Navigation for All Iterations of Your Site

Web designers should know that their design should not only be simple; it also has to cater to the different needs of your audiences as well.

What I mean is that using the computer is not only the method people use to access your site, but they also use their smartphones as well.

Now, given that there is a huge difference in screen sizes, it is your job to make sure that the mobile and desktop version of your site is optimal for the screens being used.

For instance, to achieve a cleaner look, you can use a normal menu bar at the top of the page for the main version of your site, while you use an icon like the hamburger menu on the mobile version to keep a minimalistic look.

Make It Browser-Compatible

There are plenty of web browsers already available today. Some popular choices are Google Chrome, Opera, Safari, and Firefox.

Your website should be compatible with all of those browsers and you can check it by using the individual software or you can check your HTML coding as well.

Utilize Some “Communicative Graphics”

You can increase user engagement by incorporating some “communicative graphics” on your web page. Under this umbrella are scrolling animations, short video animations, and short videos.

Just remember two things when implementing them:

Make sure that they’re optimized so that they won’t take a long time to load

Ensure that the animations and videos that you will use resemble the core values of your site.

Search Engine Optimization is a Must

You want your website to be known, right? Otherwise, your hard work will be for naught. You have to make use of SEO strategies to put your website on the map (or in this case, on the top pages of the search engine results page).

To do that, you must research some targeted keywords that people use to hopefully, find your website.

Next, create content that intrigues people. You can also make some that are highly-informative as well.
